Water treatment: IVAR presents POLIFEMO

The three-in-one doser of spheric polyphosphates and silicates: protects against limescale and corrosion, and removes impurities.

POLIFEMO is IVAR's new water-treatment product – it is a silicates and polyphosphates doser for installation on the water supply pipework to boilers, or other equipment such as washing machines and dishwashers or water heaters, in order to reduce the presence of limescale.

The polyphosphates dispensed by POLIFEMO create a protective film in the pipes which helps prevent corrosion caused by limescale, and is therefore ideal for hard and very hard water areas. As well as the limescale inhibiting action of the polyphosphates, which prevent the precipitation of calcium and magnesium carbonate, POLIFEMO also provides protection against corrosion by dispensing silicates.

Featuring a chrome-plated brass cap which offers the maximum possible resistance to water hammer, Polifemo is also fitted with an integrated 100 μm safety filter in accordance with Italian standard UNI 8065.

POLIFEMO is tough, reliable and highly versatile: it can be installed in four different positions, with both horizontal and vertical mounting, thanks to the special tee attachment.

Above all, the filtration with the release of phosphates and silicates is guaranteed in all four positions, thanks to the forced water flow through the body. This distinctive feature of Polifemo ensures guaranteed filtration and dispensing, controlled and gradual dosing, and no blockages due to over-dosed water.

Simple to install and easy to inspect via the level indicator on the transparent body, the POLIFEMO range also includes a PLUS version which incorporates a dedicated valve that allows the polyphosphates to be refilled while leaving the system running, thanks to the patented bypass system.
